What’s up, bots. Today I want to share my thoughts on the 3 body problem in CS2, which, believe it or not, is way more interesting than that “3 Body Problem” show I just watched. So, what’s this 3 body problem in CS2 all about?

Basically, there are three main ways to attack bomb sites in CS2. You’ve got a 5-person team holding onto two sites, all while keeping an eye on three main entry points. Here’s the kicker: if the CTs are playing passive, they should technically never win if the Ts decide to execute a well-coordinated attack on any site. But somehow, T sides in all “S|A|B” tier teams are struggling big time.

Let’s talk about MID for a second. It’s a golden opportunity for any T side. A single CT can’t hold off 2 Ts clearing Mid, even if the Ts have just one flash and trade properly. 2-1-2, master plan of all Silvers, always fail. CT’s need to clear one of three entry paths and stack correct side to have any chance of winning rounds.

Pressure Mid, and the CTs are forced to move 2 players there or push back to either site, possibly clearing any A or B entry paths to relieve pressure. These scenarios favor the Ts big time. Mid control for the T side is perfect for setting up a site push. All the Ts need to do is trade properly. The second entry should support the first with a flash or double peek while clearing corners, and they’re golden.

Yet, most T sides still suck, with scores like 10-2, 9-3, 8-4, etc. Even with all these so-called GOAT IGLs and star players like NiKo|Ropz|Zywoo, the T sides still fail miserably. Why? How many top players do these IGLs need on their team to finally stop sucking on T sides?

I’ll admit, I’ve never played any serious CSor CS2. I play for fun and end up getting trolled. My teammates are usually these ULTRA PRO MAX Silvers who’d rather buy armor+AK47/AWP+Deagle with no utility than full armor+Galil+some utility. They won’t trade and bait every last one of their teammates just to get some useless kills. Still, I prefer T sides more than CT sides because you can make plays and avoid these ultra pro max teammates.

Here’s the thing: there are no silvers in S-tier teams. 99% of these pros can one-shot kill in the blink of an eye. So what makes these pros suck on T side? Who’s responsible for this mess? The IGL.

  • Lack of team plan or Lack of plan execution.
  • Patience to hold vital positions to counter any CT rush/clear ops.
  • Map control

What’s the solution? Micro-managing the team or letting them play freely? Micro-managing can fail if the IGL lacks some IQ points and the team lacks communication skills. Letting them play freely can work because these pros can navigate any map, make space, and hopefully get some round wins. It’s something G2 did in IEM Dallas.

So, what’s the answer?
